Today was my second day at the university and it is my first day out of the hotel.
But everything in turn:
I yesterday came to the university in the afternoon and my Prof was really worrying about my accomodation problem. He told me, that I could stay at another (femal) Profs home till friday in order to having enough time to look for something else. And he introduced me into very kind masters students: One Indian girl and a girl and boy from singapore. The singaporians immediately actuated everything and so we had three visits of rooms yesterday. (Were they accompanied me, so that I won't get in trouble with dangerous men.) One room was very nice with a Singaporian girl and her husband and a girl from Swizzerland living there. They will tell me tomorrow at lunchtime wether it goes ok or not.
Then I was at the International Student Center at my University NTU, and they are also trying their best to find an accomodation on campus for me. They will tell me by tomorrow wether it was successfull.
Today I was the second day here at NTU and people introduced me in the different projects they do at the Robotics Research Center. There's also a Underwater Project and they are quiet interested in the sensory system I built in Munich. Maybe I can sell it to them :-D
The campus itself is SO cool. It's like a own small - well not so small - city with everything you can imagine. There is McDonalds, Subways... directly in the vicinity of my lab and there are a lot of cantines, which are really, really good. You have a choice between about ten different stores in each cantine where you can buy food from all over the world which costs between 1.00 € and 2.00 €, is freshly prepared for everyone and is SO good. I'm really amazed and I don't now why the German Mensas have to be so bad for a higher price.
So in summary I can say, it's becomming better and better here. Keep your fingers crossed that it will work with the room tomorrow.
Pictures of theUniversity will follow when I'm better accustomed to everything.
